The Co-Mac Story
Back in the late 80’s, the founder of Co-Mac was working for an engineer. When designing and manufacturing, you could spend days hunting for small components to complete the machine. Each part came from a different supplier. To find out your options, you needed to look up for suppliers in a paper-based directory, then call them to request their catalogue to be sent to you.Once the catalogue arrived you would search for the parts you were after (including the price). If the price is not as expected, or the parts are out of stock, you would have to start looking for a new supplier again. Payment through cheque was sent by mail and the supplier will only deliver the goods once the payment had been received. The whole process for getting parts may take days, weeks or even months, making it extremely difficult for engineers in New Zealand. We decided to make the change and start Co-Mac Group Limited.Now over 30 years later, with a growing range of products in the priced catalogue, a website consisting of videos and CAD files, and a warehouse stocked with nearly 5 million items of ‘hard to find hardware’ Co-Mac is making life easier for New Zealand Engineers. You can now look up for parts and prices on our website or catalogue, place an order before 4pm, and your goods will leave us the same day. You can design off the catalogue knowing the parts are readily available.The hunt for hardware components is now quick and easy with same day dispatch, one phone call away. Our customer service is our priority, and our knowledgeable sales team are here to answer any queries you may have.
